Brain Compatible Classrooms

To develop skills that can be used on a consistent basis, students need an environment that:

ðIs free of threat

ðHas meaning they can identify

ðOffers choices in how to achieve the goal

ðAllows adequate time to practice

ðIs enriched for modeling how to do/use the skill

ðOffers opportunities for collaboration to enhance understanding

ðGives immediate feedback to help determine if they’re on the track

ðBrings a sense of mastery demonstrating that they have a mental program for the skill
